About the school

Our school is located in the Region Centre in the "Eure-et-Loir" departement. We have about 1100 students divided into three big departments: vocational, technological and general education departments.

Our headmistress is Madame Moulin Bernadette and the assistant-headmaster is Mister Patrice Hanne.

Our school is named after a famous physicist Edouard Branly born in 1840 and who died in 1940. He got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1909.

About our work

At the moment we're working on an exhibition about the project meeting we had in March at our Italian friends'. Also we're preparing the coming of all our European partners in November and we're actually thinking about the different tasks each class and groups of students will have on the theme of environment.

This year, we encountered several problems in setting up the project on the theme of "Immigration and emigration". It was difficult for us to Pind documents about the historical past of our region as an asylum land. Then we chose to turn to the history of some French speaking countries such as Louisiana and Quebec. We then decided to talk about the present situation of immigration in Dreux and its impact on its cultural life. We sylit finto six or seven main groups: Sofiane ("European section student") worked on the restaurants in Dreux offering exotic cuisine. Maxime worked on the history of French people in Louisiana and Acadia, Sheherazade and Ouafa as well as Sofiane n°2 studied the history of Quebec and the origins of some famous stars such as Celine Dion, Camilla Parker 8owles etc. Likewise we couldn't always work during the English classes (only 3 hours a week) because of a lack of time mainly, so the students first worked on their own, then we met, to gather all the information we had found. Finally Concetta and I "computerized" all those data.
